Moving a piano within your home
Not every move is house to house. Whether it is room to room, up or down stairs, or shifting the piano out while the floor is done, we handle it safely.
The move that seems small but really isn't
Shifting a piano "just across the room" or "only up one flight" is exactly how instruments get damaged and people hurt their backs. A piano's weight is unevenly balanced and its case marks easily, so even a short internal move deserves the right hands.
We move pianos within homes, schools, churches and venues all the time — turning them to a new wall, taking them through to another room, carrying them up or down stairs, or lifting them clear while you have flooring or carpets fitted and then setting them back exactly where they belong.
Internal moves also cover the awkward jobs people do not always think of: easing a piano out from a chimney breast that is about to be opened up, repositioning a grand so its lid catches better light, or getting an upright through a doorway that looks an inch too narrow. We bring the same skids, padding and lifting know-how we use for a full removal, protect the floors and frames on the way, and take the time to set the instrument down level and square.

Can you move a piano to another room in the same house?
Yes — internal moves are a big part of what we do. Room to room, upstairs or downstairs, or just turning a piano to a different wall, we have the team and equipment to do it safely.
I'm having flooring or carpets fitted — can you move the piano out and back?
We can. We will move it clear for the fitters and bring it back into place afterwards, so you never have to risk it yourself.
Can you get a piano up or down stairs inside the house?
Yes. Internal staircases, tight landings and turns are routine for us, using stair techniques and lifting belts to keep the instrument and your home safe.
