We move, store and recycle pianos across Yorkshire, and hardly a day goes by without somebody asking us whether we know a good tuner. We are not tuners, so rather than guess we keep this list of independent tuners working across the county. Find your town, ring them direct, and tell them we sent you.

Tuning full time since qualifying at Newark College in 2014, and splitting the week between Leeds and Sheffield. Tuning, pitch raising, on the day repairs, regulation and voicing, in homes, schools, churches, theatres and recording studios.

Piano tuning · good to know
Most pianos in a normal home want tuning once or twice a year. A piano that is played hard, used for teaching, or that sits in a room with big temperature and humidity swings will drift faster. A piano that has not been touched for several years will usually need a pitch raise first, which is a separate job and costs more.
Most tuners in Yorkshire charge somewhere between £60 and £100 for a standard tuning, with extra for a pitch raise, repairs or travel out to remote areas. Prices are set by each tuner, not by us, so always confirm when you book.
Yes, in almost every case. Moving a piano changes its environment, and the instrument needs a few weeks to settle in the new room before it holds a tuning properly. We normally suggest waiting two to four weeks after a move, then booking the tuner.
Often, but not always. If a piano has been left for decades the strings and tuning pins may no longer hold, and the cost of putting it right can be far more than the instrument is worth. A tuner will tell you honestly, and if the answer is no we can collect and recycle it for you.
No. Every tuner listed is an independent business. We put the list together because we are asked for a recommendation nearly every day, and it is more useful than shrugging. Any work you arrange is a contract between you and the tuner.
